Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology, sometimes shortened to nanotech, refers to a field of applied science whose theme is the control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale.
Nano-meter is a length unit in Physics, also named as millimicron which is one billionth of a meter. To be visualized, if a granule of nano-meter size is put on a ping-pong, the rate is similar to put a ping-pong on the earth. Modern science research discovered: when substance is crushed to nano level, there will be an occurrence of unexpected changes. The produced nano material not only changes the optical, electrical, heat and magnetic characteristic, but also possess many new characteristics such as radiation absorption, catalyzing, sterilization and absorption. These nano particles have a larger size than their surface area, produce vast energy, and create many new functions and features as well.

Nano Technology is the most prosperous technology of the twenty-first century. It extends into the physics, chemistry, biology, electronic and mechanics in an irresistible trend. It can be said without exaggeration that nano technology will sweep across the whole field of natural science. It will also create in-depth impact in social science and throughout the whole of civilization. There is no reason to doubt that nano technology will stand at the commanding height of the era and lead the rolling wave of new technologies in the twenty-first century.
In history, there were the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Industrial Age, the Steam Age, the age of the combustion engine, the Plastic Age, the Space Age, the Nuclear Age, and the Cybernetic Age. There will be a Nano Age in the twenty-first century.
